Guess the hidden five-letter word in six tries. After each guess, tile colours tell you how close you are.
1Aim of the Game
Identify the secret five-letter word using logic and the colour clues from each of your previous guesses. The goal is to solve it in as few attempts as possible, ideally within six tries.
2How to Play
Type any valid five-letter word and press Enter (or tap Enter on the on-screen keyboard). Each guess must be exactly five letters. You get six guesses total to find the correct word.
3Reading the Colours
Green — correct letter, correct position. Amber — the letter is in the word but in a different position. Dark grey — the letter isn't in the word at all.
4Scoring
There's no numeric score — success is measured by the number of guesses used to solve the word. Solving in one or two tries is exceptional; three to four is solid; five or six still counts as a win.
Strategy tips for the Word Puzzle
Start with a word that uses common, distinct letters — five-letter words rich in vowels like A, E, and O tend to reveal the most information early on. Avoid repeating letters in your opening guess so you learn as much as possible from a single try.
- Use your first two guesses to test common letters rather than trying to solve the word outright.
- Pay attention to amber tiles — they tell you a letter belongs somewhere else in the word, which is often more useful than a grey tile.
- Once you have two or three green tiles, start thinking about common word patterns and letter combinations that fit.
- Don't reuse a letter you already know is grey — it's confirmed absent from the word for that round.
